Pop Art is an art movement that arose in England after the end of the 2nd World War in the early 50's, when artists want to celebrate the daily objects ( soup cans, soda bottles, washing powder, etc) in popular culture using a corny way to downgrade the serious and stylized style of the Abstract Expressionism, even Pop Art won many follower, critics saw it as vulgar, sensational and with out merit.

In the late 50's and beginning of the 60's pop art arrived in America, with Jasper Johns and Robert Rauschenberg, but the most famous American artist is Andy Warhol for bringing the pop art to the public with a couple prints like the coke bottle, the Campbell's Soup or the different portrait of famous celebrity just like Marilyn Monroe, Liz Taylor or Jacki Kennedy. Other American Follower of the Pop Art was Roy Lichtenstein using stencil-like dots, thick lines, bold colors. Between Andy W. and Roy L, made that Pop Art become to see it as part of the high culture.

Others country where artist became fan or follower of this movement was Spain and Japan; in Spain Eduardo Arroyo should be on of the most important artist of Pop Art, with his art he show the interesting about the environment and found the way to criticize the media culture of mass media communication, other famous group of artist is El Equipo Cron
ica that existed in Valencia in the period 1969 - 1981 using comics, publicity images and simplified photographic compositions. In Japan Pop Art was inspired in anime, ukiyo-e, the traditional art and the Japanese street culture, expressing it using a surreal, obscene and shocking images images from Japanese hentai.
